Important Update: New Camp SMILE Application & Acceptance Process

Camp SMILE has updated our registration process for the upcoming camp season. This year, we will be using an application-style registration process.

Submitting an application does not mean your camper is automatically accepted or registered. All applications will be time-stamped and reviewed in the order they are received.

Applications will be reviewed based on:

• Camper age group

• Available space

• Staffing considerations to ensure safety and quality care for all campers

As part of the application, families will answer detailed questions about their camper’s needs (mobility, communication, personal care, medical needs, and behavioral supports). This information helps us assign support levels, which are used for planning staffing and group placement and ensuring we can best support campers during each session. Support levels are not labels—they are simply a planning tool.

Important Dates:

• Applications open: January 15 at 8:00 AM

• Families will be notified of acceptance or waitlist status on Tuesday, February 3

Payments:

• No payment is due when you apply

• Payment is only required if your camper is accepted

• Accepted families may pay the $100 registration fee or the full balance

• Final balances are due by May 31

• Families on the waitlist do not submit payment unless a spot becomes available

Important Reminders:

• No visitors will be allowed at camp

• No typical siblings will be allowed to attend

• Space is very limited. Please apply as soon as possible, and notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend

Camp SMILE remains committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive camp experience for all campers. This new process allows us to plan staffing and supports more thoughtfully and continue serving campers with a wide range of needs.
