Volunteer positions that are available include:

​

Volunteer Camp Counselor:

This person must have a strong desire to work with campers of all ages with mild to severe disabilities. A Camp SMILE counselor is responsible for assigned campers at all times. He/she not only assists with participation in typical camp activities, but also assists campers with their daily living skills.  The minimum age for this volunteer position is 16. Click here for a job description.

Volunteer Special Performers:

Special evening activities are always a part of each camp session. We are always looking for individuals to share their special skill/talent with our campers. Favorite special performances include: clowns, DJ’s, bands, gymnasts, dancer groups, play groups, puppets and magicians. Any performer or group that will add to the adventure is welcome!

Volunteer Medical Staff:

Nursing students, LPNs, RNs, and paramedics are all welcome to assist our own medical staff. It takes many qualified hands to provide a fun and safe camping experience. We also welcome ST, OT, PT, & Recreational Therapy students to assist with specific camp activities, such as: horseback riding, yoga, cooking; as well as help with daily needs, such as positioning and feeding.

Volunteer Photographer:

Camp is all about making friends and making memories. We want to capture those memories! This person should have experience with digital photography, both still and action shots.  The minimum age for this volunteer position is 21.

​

Volunteer Housekeeping:

This position requires a true behind the scenes person. These volunteers are responsible for washing, sorting and returning camper laundry and cleaning the bath houses daily. The minimum age for this volunteer position is 18.

​

Volunteer Kitchen Staff:

These volunteers help the food service manager. They are responsible for setting and cleaning up the dining hall before and after meals, as well as preparing/serving each meal. Volunteers can sign up for the entire session or for individual meals. The minimum age for this volunteer position is 18. Click here for a job description.

Volunteer Horse Staff:

These volunteers report directly to the Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor. They are responsible for feeding, grooming, tacking and untacking the horses. They assist the instructor by leading or sidewalking during camper riding times. The minimum age for this volunteer position is 16. Click here for a job description.

 

Volunteer Waterfront Staff:

These volunteers report directly to the Waterfront Director. They must have current Lifeguard and CPR certifications. They are responsible for setting up and putting away waterfront materials daily and for general waterfront safety. The minimum age for this volunteer position is 16. Click here for a job description.
